Training Academy Graduates

BCOT 2020-F

Due to continuing COVID-19 precautions in relation to large gatherings, members of Class 2020-F graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at their assigned units on May 29, 2020. The motto for BCOT Class 2020-F was, “Lead by Example.”

An awards ceremony was held prior to the cadets’ departure from the Training Academy on May 15. Bertha Freeman of the Delta Regional Unit was recognized as the recipient of the Willis H. Sargent Award for BCOT 2020-F.

BCOT 2020-E

Due to COVID-19 prevention guidelines pertaining to large gatherings, members of Class 2020-E graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at their assigned units on May 8, 2020. The class motto was, “Discipline is Power.”

An awards ceremony was held prior to the cadets’ departure from the Training Academy on April 24. Christopher Bennett of the East Arkansas Regional Unit was recognized as the recipient of the Willis H. Sargent Award for BCOT 2020-E.

BCOT 2020-D

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines regarding large gatherings, members of Class 2020-D graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at their assigned units on one of two dates: April 17 or 24, 2020. The motto for the class was, “Announcing Our Presence, Leaving Our Mark.”

An awards ceremony was held prior to the cadets’ departure from the Training Academy on April 10. Cory Cox of the Ouachita River Correctional Unit was recognized for earning a spot on the coveted Dean’s List for BCOT 2020-D by maintaining a 95.2% average in academics.

BCOT 2020-C

Class 2020-C graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at the Willis H. Sargent Training Academy in England, Arkansas on March 27, 2020. Their class motto was, “Peace, Justice, Integrity for All.” Superintendent DeAngelo Earl of the Ouachita River Correctional Unit was the guest speaker for the graduation.

Lakoiya Diggs of the Tucker Unit was presented with the Willis H. Sargent Award for the class by Training Academy Director Randy Callas.

BCOT 2020-B

Class 2020-B graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at the Willis H. Sargent Training Academy in England, Arkansas on March 6, 2020. Their class motto was, “Start Together; End Together.” Superintendent James “Hoot” Gibson of the Varner Unit was the guest speaker for the graduation.

Yolanda Langston of the Maximum Security Unit was presented with the Willis H. Sargent Award for the class by Training Academy Director Randy Callas as Training Instructor Sarah Apel looked on.

BCOT 2020-A

Class 2020-A graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at the Willis H. Sargent Training Academy in England, Arkansas on February 14, 2020. Their class motto was, “Excellence in All Things.”

BCOT 2019-Q

Class 2019-Q graduated from Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at the Willis H. Sargent Training Academy in England, Arkansas on January 24, 2020. Their class motto was, “Fear None, Respect All.”
